How To Play

Playing Fantasy Tri is quick, easy and involves 3 simple steps: create * play * win.

1.  CREATE

Choosing your team is the first and most important step in playing Fantasy Tri.  Each week, you will be in charge of selecting a given number female and male professional triathletes that are scheduled to compete in the upcoming Fantasy Tri race schedule for the series in which your team is registered.  You will have a set budget to spend on your team for the week.  Each athlete has been assigned a salary and it is your job as the team manager to choose the most competitive team every week that comes in under your budget.  The goal is to find the right combination of athletes that will yield the best results, based on overall finishing place, from the week of racing - whether it be one race or five.  Preparation is the key to success and Fantasy Tri will provide tools and updates to help you succeed as a team manager.

This video explains how to create a team once you have a registered account.

2.  PLAY

Once your team has been locked, make sure to track your athletes during the races to monitor their progress and race results.  You can keep current with the action by following the weekend updates on the Fantasy Tri Twitter feed or by finding live feeds available on the Internet.

After the race(s) for the week have been completed, points will be assigned to each athlete that has finished among top 15 overall places.  Your team score for the week will be the total points scored by each athlete on your team.  Scoring for Fantasy Tri will be assigned to the athletes as follows:

  1. 100 Points
  2. 85 Points
  3. 75 Points
  4. 65 Points
  5. 55 Points
  6. 50 Points
  7. 45 Points
  8. 40 Points
  9. 35 Points
  10. 30 Points
  11. 25 Points
  12. 20 Points
  13. 15 Points
  14. 10 Points
  15. 5 Points

3. WIN

The teams that score the most points and finish at the top of the leaderboard will receive the designated prize(s) assigned to the game in which the team entry has been entered.  Prizes are offered for all games – both free and pay to play games.  The weekly free game is an ongoing one-week game, but multi-week games will be available throughout the season where weekly points are accumulated until the race series ends.  Check both the Game Types page and the Prizes page for more information on the current and future game and prize offerings.
